OUR COTTAGES

Our Estate started life as a group of stone barns built by Thomas Hardy’s father in 1849. These barns have been lovingly transformed into a curated collection of holiday homes. Ready and waiting for you to create cherished Dorset memories.


Every property is unique and there is something for everyone, whether you’re a couple looking for a cosy cottage, a family looking for an adventure or a group of friends celebrating. We have a Pet Friendly Collection as well, so no one gets left behind.


All cottages have access to our shared hot tubs on the lawn and 4 of our largest cottages have private hot tubs in their gardens.

Puddletown Forest & Thorncombe Woods

Our Estate is tucked away in a quiet natural valley on the edge of Thorncombe Woods and Puddletown Forest. Step out of your door and straight into the wonder of ancient woodland and peaceful trails in over 750 acres of scenic forest. There is something here for all the family, including your four-legged friends (woof!). The buggy-friendly trails here are fantastic for exploring on foot, by bike or even on horseback. You’ll walk through the magical ancient woodland of Thorncombe Woods into the expansive Puddletown Forest, full of Pines, Redwood Trees and rare nature. Trust us, your dog will love you for it.

Jurassic Coast

Access England’s Only natural World Heritage Site in minutes. We are so lucky to be within easy reach of the amazing beaches and rock formations of the Jurassic Coast. The Jurassic Coast was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for the Outstanding Universal Value of it’s rocks, fossils and landforms. Amongst these are Weymouth Beach, a sheltered sandy bay consistently voted top in Europe and Studland Beach, a natural sandy Bay perfect for those craving a quieter (dog friendly) beach escape.
